For today's post, I thought we'd take a little look at Jaelyn through her six complete years.
On July sixth, 2002, we were blessed to have a little girl join our family and add life and love and energy and passion to our home. She was strong and alert from the very start. She was well loved at home and everywhere she went. Daddy's heart was gone and this little one made her way into our hearts and lives.
Then came the first birthday. She was smiling and dancing, walking and running. She still didn't have a hint of hair, but it didn't matter. She was our little angel.
The second birthday came with the promise of a little brother in the upcoming months. I don't think she quite knew all that was coming with that promise. By this time Jaelyn and the Fribergs had just moved into their newly built home and Jaelyn was surprising us at every turn with her brilliant mind and loving, sensitive heart.
By age three the hair had finally come in and this brought on a whole new assortment of hairdo opportunities! She was making friends at church and throughout our little neighborhood. A little brother had entered the picture and altered her only-child world, but she took to big-sisterhood with enthusiasm and grace. To this day the bond between her and her eldest brother is a special one. Pinks and purples and flowers and dresses began to speak and sing beauty and grace into her life. Jaelyn was becoming a special young girl.
Four saw the beginnings of Cowgirl Jaelyn, a phase that was fun and short-lived, although it has seen moments of rebirth throughout the months and years. Here she is flipping her hair (or maybe that's just static) as she tips a stetson to the crowd and sports some flashy cowgirl boots. YEE-HAW!
Five came very quickly! Jaelyn began to develop an interest in music and letters and all the many wonderful things there are to learn. Shortly after turning five, she knew Kindergarten was on the way and she couldn't have been more excited. What a sponge her young, fresh, adept mind had become, able to process and learn so many things!
And now she's completed her sixth year. Here she is posing by some presents earlier this week. What a young lady. She is such a little beauty and blessing. Her mom and I could not be more proud of this fine young lady. She got to celebrate with many of her friends this week and loved soaking up all the attention and love that was extended to her. We're so grateful to have this wonderful girl in our family!!
