Up Close with Aiden

From your requests, here is the little man, up close and personal.

If you look closely in the picture, you can see two nice little pearly whites. (Did you know that getting a picture of a babies bottom teeth is quite the challenge?) They are way cute, but also way sharp as my finger has found out. His first top tooth just broke the gums today, so here within a couple of weeks he should have a nice goofy first teeth grin. Why is it that they look so huge when they first get them and so amazingly small when they lose them?
In the next picture, you see one of Aiden's favorite pasttimes. He thinks that it is great fun to pool up the spit in his mouth, and there is a lot of it these days, and then blow bubbles. Lots of bubbles! It runs down his chin, splatters on those around him. Drips down on his shirt and you. Not only does it get rid of the excess saliva, but it also makes a great sound. The best part though, he has two older brothers that think it is hilarious. Not only do they laugh and give him attention, they join in on the fun. How is a mother to tell a 2 and 3 year old that it is only cute when their baby does it, even though I am laughing at them all giggling and spitting at each other? And how is it that they share germs?
And the last of the baby diaries for tonight, is part of what makes Aiden stand out from his sister and brothers. What could it be? You can see in the picture. Our first three, no plugs, no thumbs, no fingers. Now here is the dilemma though. He doesn't really suck on his thumb all that much. He really just chews on it a lot with an occasional suck, though those are increasing. He really wants something to suck on though, as he is falling asleep and his thumb is never good enough. So, for the past almost six months now. we have given him a plug. We have tried all types of plugs, but he isn't able to keep any of them in his mouth as he sucks on it. Weird, aye?

Well, that is all for the update on Aiden for the night. Overall, he is a happy, healthy little man who rolls all over and is trying to get up and crawl. He is a normal five and half month old who loves attention and puts everything he gets into his hands into his mouth. His big grin and the sparkle in his eyes melts my heart continuously throughout the day and I'm sure can melt yours too. He is such a gift.
